This cowl is a very fast knit and it is good as a stash burner, because it uses such small amounts of two colors. It also is a great beginner lace pattern as it has very simple stitches.

The wide eyelet border is created by a 16 stitch cable cast on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFkYejFGwsI
is a good link to learn the cable cast on.

You are binding off as you knit the eyelet border. At end you have a very small seam to sew.
