Mourn the Wicked socks are a tribute to my very favourite musical, Wicked!, and the Gregory Maguire book on which it is based. I chose an Elphaba-inspired green for my pair, but the stitch pattern looks amazing in any solid color.

These socks are constructed from the cuff down and feature a patterned, modified fleegle/strong heel. This particular design is not suitable for working two at a time, as there is a lot of stitch shifting between needles due to the many traveling stitches.

Mourn the Wicked comes in 3 charted sizes: Small (68st), Medium (72st) and Large (76st). This sock can be modified to create larger sizes by adding columns of stockinette at the centre back (chart edges).

Leg height and foot length are completely adjustable, however please be aware that a very tall, long sock may take more than 100g of yarn. Foot circumference is adjustable at the gusset.

A big thank you to my test knitters for their input and for their wonderful test socks, which all turned out to be gorgeous!
