Mourning doves may seem plain – drab, neutral colored birds, but I find an inherent beauty to them that I tried to capture in this shawl design.

The Mourning Dove Shawl is a triangular crocheted design, which starts at the bottom “point” and increases each row. This makes it easy to adjust the size and use up all the yarn!

The yardage used for this shawl will depend on how wide you make the shawl body. The sample used the entire 400+ yards (366 m) for the main section and another 150 - 200 yds (137 - 183 m) of a coordinating colorway. The finished size was 31” height x 54” width (79 cm x 137 cm) after blocking.

The pattern contains both written instructions and charts for the shawl body and border.
