The idea came to me when I was looking for a small blanket for TV knitting time. I also love how this project will defy the infamous “Boyfriend Sweater Curse,” the urban knitting myth that once you knit for your significant other, the couple will soon break up. It really is one project, and you can keep one half of it, so the Curse cannot get to you! It is technically challenging because of steeking and sewing in the zipper or button bands, but otherwise the lace pattern is easy to remember and the end result is both fun and functional.
