Welcome Mr. Badger!
And so completing the last of my Wind in the Willows tribute quartet (although - do stay tuned, I have a plan for the little otter character too! remember him?)

My wise and kind of wiley Mr. Badger is knitted as one piece, joining as you go and so allowing for minimal seams.

His muzzle and nose took a long time to work out because I didn’t want to include intarsia in my pattern - so the stripe is included in the knit as you go - and it’s not picking up stitches either!

He stands firm and quite tall - approx. 23cm/ 9in tall and has a look of pride in his wise old face.

And I love his gypsy-esque attire:
A tweed jacket with little pockets, just large enough for collecting seed
A pair of knickerbockers - Badger-style
A fetching red neckachief - always handy to have a hanky
and
A pair of slippers! - Practical ones for gardening and for comfort… (a little secret - much to my house-proud Mum’s despair, my Dad used to garden in his - so the slipper addition is homage to my dear Pa!)

I hope you enjoy knitting this - and the other characters I’ve designed around that most fabulous classic reader.
