If the men in your life are anything like mine, they aren’t easy to knit for. Especially when it comes to socks. Bold colours? Nope! Funky stitches? Double nope. And those are the things that make sock knitting really fun.
They want plain and simple. Couple that with giant man-feet and it can equal some seriously boring knitting in your future.
So, while I was contemplating making man-socks out of a particularly sumptuous dark chocolate skein of Alley Cat, I knew it deserved to be so much more than a pair of plain vanilla socks. Even a fancy garter rib wasn’t enough for this rich, decadent shade. But what else would the man in my life wear?
Time to turn to the classics! A simple, but elegant textured diamond pattern compliment a solid or semi-solid yarn perfectly. The pattern is simple enough to knit quickly, but just exciting enough that you won’t lose your mind knitting inches and inches to fit those
giant man-feet. And it’s a pattern he’ll actually wear!
Since classics never go out of style, there’s also a version for the ladies as well!
