The colours for my gloves are inspired by the west coast of Muckle Roe. The heathery hills take on a purple hue and the red granite is striking; from a distance it turns a dusky pink. The neutrals and greys are inspired by the stony beaches, the backs of the fingers come from the edges of cliff faces, and the palm is reminiscent of the wildflowers that grow throughout the isle. The bright pink in the centre of the palm is a nod to the vivid heather bells that are flecked through the summer landscape.

The pattern is a part of Shetland Wool Adventures Journal vol.1
