I wanted green socks for St. Patrick’s Day, so I found a great color at Simply Socks and looked for a stitch pattern to go with it.

I found Seaweed in Barbara Walker’s A Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns. Muirin is the reverse of that stitch, starting on a different row.

“Muirin” is an Irish name that means “born of the sea,” which fits here, I think.

The website that previously hosted this has dropped all of my old patterns. They are currently unavailable, but I may reissue them at another time.
