Mukava socks are nice and simple socks with lovely pattern of ribbed and twisted stitches. They are knitted from cuff to toes, they have gussets for a better fit and the heel is worked with short rows. It is relaxing and fun project at the same time – ideal even for travelling and it is totally up to you if you make the socks with contrast hems, heels and toes or with just one color! Mukava means comfortable, cozy and nice in Finnish – and that´s just what these socks are! ♥

Sizes: 1 (2). The difference in fit is achieved by changing the gauge, see below. Shown in size 1. Circumference 20 (21.5) cm. Length is adjustable.

Yarn: Size 1 - fingering weight or 4ply sock yarn, size 2 - heavy fingering, sport weight or 6ply sock yarn

Colors – yardage: main color (MC) approx. 200m, contrast color for hems, heels and toes (CC) approx. 70 m

Needles: 2.25mm (for cuff) and 2.5 mm, or the needle size which gives you the right gauge (pattern is written for circular needles and magic loop method)

Gauge: size 1: 30 sts in 10 cm after blocking in Stockinette stitch, size 2: 28 sts in 10 cm after blocking in Stockinette stitch

Other notions: stitch markers, sewing needle for weaving in ends, sock blockers if you wish, cable needle (if you can´t knit cables without it)
