Real squirrels can be trouble… eating your peanuts, getting into the birdfeeder and causing general mayhem. But not Murray! He’s sweet and adorable!

Murray is 8” tall when completed with a worsted weight yarn. And yes, the pattern includes instructions for a giant acorn!

To complete your own sweetie squirrel, you’ll need:

  • 240 yards of worsted weight yarn in MC (the squirrels that live near me are grey, but you may want brown or black! Sample crocheted in Ella Rae Classic)
  • 5 yards each of white and black yarn (for squirrel-y features)
  • 25 yards each of tan and green yarn for the acorn.
  • A size H (5.0mm) crochet hook (or size required for a nice-looking fabric)
  • A tapestry needle
  • 12mm black animal eyes
  • Polyester stuffing

Can you single crochet? Willing to give the loop stitch a try? Then you can make this squirrel! Skills required:

  • single crochet
  • double crochet
  • increasing
  • decreasing
  • loop stitch

Don’t be scared of the loop stitch… the pattern includes instructions and you can always watch my awesome video
