This is a double thick cotton coaster which will protect a surface from heat (like a hot cup of coffee) and will wick moisture from a cold glass with condensation helping to prevent drips on clothes, but as cotton yarn does soak up moisture it, it likely will not provide good moisture protection to surfaces like unsealed wood.

It was designed as a quick and easy intro piece into double knitting and then to help use up yarn leftovers from other projects.

Finished size on size US 4 needle: 3-7/8” x 3-7/8” (9.8 cm x 9.8 cm)

Yarn used: Lily Sugar ‘N Cream, 4-ply cotton yarn. 2 contrasting colors. For each color, 15 yards of yarn is needed.

The pattern comes with:
Written instructions
2 charts (for knitting both sides).
2 blank charts for selecting and testing your own colors combinations.

Note: There was an error to Rev 1 of the pattern. This has now been corrected in Rev 2. If you have already printed out Rev 1 of the pattern, Row 2 (should have said): …..repeat across row until last stitch, then, wbyif, p1 with both yarns.
