This pattern includes six mushroom varieties with patterns for stand-alone versions of the mushrooms as well as versions for attaching to a beanie or other item. The beanie features a moss-like texture and is knitted in the round from the bottom up. Although 2 colors are used for the beanie, it is only the band that uses a Fair Isle technique. The main body of the beanie uses just 1 color per round. The only sewing is to attach the mushrooms at a few points. Use all of the mushrooms or just one, as you wish.

Except for the wire knitting, an intermediate knitter should be fine with this pattern. The mushrooms that use wire should be considered experienced level. Possibly lace weight yarn could be substituted for the wire and then starched or stiffened with glue or resin.

Beanie instructions are given for sizes 18” (46 cm), 21” (53 cm), and 23” (58 cm) as follows 18”, (21”, 23”)
These correspond to child, small-medium adult and large adult sizes.
