This pattern has a musical clef and notes and would make a great gift for any music lover. It could be knitted as a dishcloth or washcloth or you could use duplicate stitch to embroider the musical design and use it to embellish a bag, pillow or other object. Using the 7 US needle, it makes a square of approximately 10”, but I have used smaller needles to get a smaller square. I recommend a 100% cotton yarn if you are making a dishcloth or washcloth because it is so absorbent. If you are making it for an embellishment, any yarn could be used.

In the photo, I used Peaches and Creme 100% cotton in a natural color. One skein of yarn (95 yds) easily makes one square, with some left over. The pattern could also be used for color work by using two different colors instead of two different stitches for the charted design. You can weave in the ends using duplicate stitch to make them (almost) invisible.
