This pattern uses American Standard Knitting Terms.

This lovely knit hat is very versatile. You can knit it flat or in the round, with directions on how to do both. You can also choose to gather the stitches at the top of the hat, or use decreases to close the top together.

If you are new to knitting, this hat uses stitches that seem intimidating, but are actually fairly simple to do. It’s great if you want to try something new or even if you are an experienced knitter!
