This is a hat inspired by both the pussy hats of the women’s march and lovely tongue in cheek knitting patterns such as pearl clutcher. I wanted to evoke a lovely floral fairisle pattern that just so happens to also be genitalia. So pretty that your grandma will love it but upon closer inspection might make her blush. One way to show off your vulva in polite company.

The pattern gives options for the hat to be worked with crown shaping and optional cat ears or as a square with some light pin tucking for the ears.

This hat was originally knit in cascade heritage sock but any fingering weight yarn will do. As always with stranded colorwork a yarn with some animal fiber will lend more flexibility for the stranded work. I have chosen to knit this in light and hot pink but feel free to choose any colors you like, after all pussies come in many colors.

This hat should fit most teens and adults but if you have a rather large head you may need to go up a size.
