This pattern came as a challenge from my good friend knitting Annie (her name’s Annie and she knits!). It’s a doll pattern that is easy to make yet has lots of scope for imagination.

I think the pattern is easy, it’s written as simply as I know how and uses mostly single crochet stitches, worked in continuous rounds. It’s designed to be adjustable for all ages. The hair colour is worked into the head so very young children don’t have hair to chew on. Longer hair can be hooked on afterwards as the child grows.

It comes with two body styles, one with a simple straight body and the other with a curved shapely body.
There are pipe cleaners in the arms making them poseable but these can be left out if you prefer also the dolls have knee joints which helps them to sit nicely.

The dolls clothes fit great, the duffle coat has a hat that fits and pockets that do the job. The vest can be turned into a t-shirt or sports bra. The doll has underpants and socks so more modest than most shop bought dolls!

All in all a beautiful doll suitable for everyone.

My contact details are on the pattern to give you help if needed, feel free to email me for help.

I’m working on some more variations for the dolls which will go on my WordPress blog - bettyvirago.
