I designed this pair of socks for anyone who is looking for all the details on how to knit their first pair of socks top down on magic loop.

Sizes
S (M, L)

To fit approx. Women’s Small (Women’s Medium, Women’s Large) or foot circumference of 6.7 (7.5 , 8.5)” / 17 (19.1, 21.5) cm

Recommended ease is around 0-1” / 0-2.5cm of negative ease in the circumference when measuring at the widest part of the foot.

Needles
US 1 / 2.25mm circular needle 32” / 80 cm or size needed to obtain correct gauge

Sample 1 was knit using HauteKnit Yarn McQueen Silk Sock 80/20, 400 yards per 100 grams shown in Foggy Autumn Mornings

Knit Pick Stroll 75%/25%231 yards per 50 grams shown in Cobblestone Heather

The second sample was knit using Campfiber Yarns in Vibrant 80/20 400 yards / 365 meters per 100 gram skein shown in Ice Castle Sock Set

Please note yardage can depend from brand to brand and also how long your leg and foot length is. These are only approximates

100g of fingering weight yarn and a 20 gram mini skein

Gauge (unblocked) in stockinette
34 stitches and 48 rows per 4” / 10 cm

This pattern is written for a plain stockinette sock. You can add any type of texture to the pattern. I would recommend doing any pattern on Needle 2 since you’ll be doing the heel on your Needle 1.
