This adorable little bear makes a charming friend for a child, or even for an adult who just needs a hug and a smile. It takes such a small amount of yarn, so it is perfect for using up leftovers. The bear pictured has been knit with Poems Sock by Wisdom Yarns. Knit it smaller with thin yarn, or make a bigger bear with thick worsted or bulky yarn and bigger needles. It is worked all in one piece, except for the ears, so there are no fiddly arms and legs to add on. Make a fun striped bear with little leftovers or yarn samplers from your Phat Fiber box!!

Gauge is unimportant for this pattern. DK weight yarn and 4mm needles will produce a bear approx. 8” high.

Notes for recipients of this pattern in the May 2013 Phat Fiber Box, abbreviations were missing from the pattern. This has been corrected in the downloadable version. Special abbreviations are as follows:

M1P - Make 1 stitch purlwise
M1K - Make 1 stitch knitwise
SKP - Slip next stitch, knit following stitch, pass slipped stitch over
KFB - Knit one stitch in the front and in the back of next stitch (increasing by one)

Additional errata: Last sentence of Cape instructions should read “Tie ends in a bow.”
