Note: This pattern contains both fingering weight and bulky-weight versions of the cowl. Gauge above only lists the fingering version. See notes below for more.

Zigzags, mitered-square diamonds, and interlocking arrows assemble in a multi-coloured cowl with a multitude of possibilities. Use two colours or as many as you’d like.
It looks complex, but thanks to slipped stitches, you only use one colour per round.

The pattern is fully written, no graphs. It has two versions, so you can use either fingering-weight or bulky-weight yarn. Samples are knit in fingering with five colours and bulky with three colours. The bulky-weight version is also a taller cowl.

At the end of the pattern there are notes and suggestions for rearranging and changing elements to make the pattern your way, including two variations on elements not used in the samples. There is also a colouring page to help you decide how you want to arrange your colours.

The yarns given are just a suggestion. If you have yarn that gives you the right gauge and not too floppy or stiff a fabric in garter stitch, it should be fine.
