Errata

There’s a small mistake in the neckline bind off row. Correct instructions are as follows:
Next row (RS): K 35 (44, 45, 49, 56) sts, bind off 50 (50, 54, 58, 62) sts, k rem 34 (43, 44, 48, 55) sts.
Thanks to jettshin for bringing this to my attention!

It seems the yarn amounts for the MasiKnits version were a little bit optimistic. Here are the corrected amounts:
masi|knits Bottoms Up, 100% Organic Wool; 293 yds/90g: Caipirinha, 3 (4, 5, 5, 6) skeins.

Problems with the lace instructions? Maybe this photo-tutorial can help…

Nachtfalter (German for ‘moth’ or ‘nightflying butterfly’) is a fun color block top with a bold lace pattern, ribbed and cabled bottom and cute, short cap sleeves. The lace always reminds me more of moths than its namesake honey bees – hence the tongue-breaking name. (I’m glad to wear a nachtfalter, but a moth? I don’t want to even think of moths in connection with my knitwear. Shoo! Bad moth!)
In this top you have everything you can ask for in your knitting. Cables? Check. Ribbing? Check? In the round? Check. Worked flat? Check. Lace? Check.
There is virtually no shaping and almost no finishing to be done, while you’re allowed to play around with different yarns and to combine your favourite colors. Nachtfalter is a perfect summer knit. Wear it over tank top, flirty skirt and heels for a night on the town. Or head out to the beach in slim capris and flip flops.
