Nebula’s are a cloud of gas and dust in outer space visible in the night sky often as patches of luminous colour. The Malabrigo Rios yarn has been dyed in a stunning variety of colours that reflect the purple colour nebula, purple with tones of green, red, pink and blue.

This hat pattern is easy enough for a beginner with some challenges through the icord cast on. It uses only one skein of worsted weight yarn so the perfect stashdown project too! Nebula knits up relatively fast so you could have a new warm hat in a couple of evenings, maybe even a new hat in time for the cold New Years Eve festivities!

Yarn
Shown in Malabrigo Rios ’Aniversario’ (100% Merino; 100 grams; 192 metres/210 yards). One skein required for all sizes. If you are substituting yarn please use a yarn that has some stretch to allow for a nice flexible fit around the head.

Needles
4.5 mm and 5 mm (40cm) circular needles; and 5 mm DPNs for the crown shaping OR do magic loop with your circulars.

Notions
1 stitch marker to mark beginning of round (BOR) and a darning needle to sew in ends.

Gauge
16 sts & 24 rows to 4” / 10 cm in Stocking Stitch on larger needle

Finished Measurements
