This hat is very easy to do. You only use one strand of yarn at a time even though it is done with 3 colors. I did a little different decrease at the crown. I call it a Pinwheel Decrease. It gives the top a little different look from the standard decrease. Instead of using Double Pointed Needles at the top when the stitches become to few to contiune on the circular needles, I used the Magic Loop method which works great. The pattern is set up for 3 colors, but you can use as many colors as you like. I have done it with 4 colors and many with 5 colors. Great way to use of scrape yarn or small balls you have left over from other projects. It works up fast. I can make 2 per day. The design makes you want to get to the next color and see what it looks like. Most people’s heads are pretty close in size from kids to adults. That is why the kids and the Teens are the same size. The kids size fits small adult heads too. Even if your gauge is not exactly the same as the pattern, as long as it is close it won’t matter much.
Size 7 circular needles 16” long and size 7 double point are the needles that best make this hat.
