The New Hope Hat has been designed as response to the refugee crisis engulfing Europe during 2015. Many, many migrants have lost their lives at sea trying to reach the safety of European shores.

This was originally sold to raise money for a humanitarian organisation, saving the life of migrants at sea. Thank you to everyone who bought the pattern and allowed me to donate to a charity that I felt strongly about; now that a few years have passed since this was released I have now decided to release this as a free pattern.

New Hope Hat is a textured Aran weight hat in a chevron pattern, that uses twisted knit and non twisted purl stitches to give a textured effect.

The hat instructions are both fully charted and fully written.
