This pattern is stitched in two parts which are then stitched together to form the whole shawl. It can be made any size from a scarf/shawlette size to a full-sized wrap-around-the-body shawl, depending on the yarn weight and cake size used. The only thing to remember is to use two coordinating yarns of the same size and quantity.

It is perfect for colour-change yarns, specifically Moca Cotton colour-change yarn, which has colour changes that gradually get bigger as it goes along, too. This sample for this pattern was made using Moca Cotton dk. My dk yarn is made using a fingering weight colourway with an additional strand of another solid colour that runs throughout the entire cake.

For this pattern, you can choose any two fingering weight colourways and then run the same colour as the additional strand throughout, which will make the colourways automatically coordinate. The sample was made using two colourways that you wouldn’t normally pair but because they both have a strand of coral running through them, they look beautiful together! Please ask about designing dk weight colourways!

You can also make this shawl using two cakes of Moca Cotton fingering or worsted, as long as they are the same size.

Gauge is not very important as long as you are happy with the drape of your shawl. Experiment with different-sized yarns and hooks.
