This scarf was the result of an afternoon exploring a collection of old crochet magazines found in a charity shop. Featured in a 1960’s magazine article on “new crochet stitches” the swatch was photographed in black and white, it was only when I crocheted it in two colours that the real beauty and rhythm of different height stitches revealed itself. I later used this stitch in my book “200 More Crochet Stitches” , you can find “Coloured Fans” on page 38, where you’ll also find a chart and helpful step by step photos. The original scarf pattern was published in Inside Crochet magazine (Issue 102) as part of a feature on stitch dictionaries.
