New Way is a seamless top-down knitted sweater with a beautiful feminine shape, elongated back and front of the sweater, kimono sleeves, and subtle stripe pattern. Slimming vertical lines are additionally flattering. Construction used in this project is an original variation of classic raglan, easy to modify and adjustable to individual body shape.

Choose your favourite colors in solid fingering weight yarn and follow the stripes sequence given in the pattern, or use your own imagination and create your own stripe sequence, or use only one color in variegated yarn and enjoy the natural lines this construction gives! So many possibilities, only one clever pattern :)

Available sizes: XS (S, M, M/L) {L, XL, 2XL}

Finished measurements:
Circumference of the finished garment in the bust: 82.5 (87.5, 92.5, 97.5) {106.5, 110.5, 117.5} / 32 ½ (34 ½, 36 ½, 38 ½) {42, 43 ½, 46}“ to fit corresponding sizes.

This sweater is designed to be worn with -2.5 – +2.5 cm/ -1 – +1” of ease.

The sample shown on the pictures was knitted in size M and is worn on the model with 95 cm / 38” bust circumference (4 cm/ 1 ½” of negative ease).

Yarn:
Any fingering yarn: 437 yards / 400 m per 100 g skein of your choice.

Yardage:
Main color: 940 m / 1027 yd (1040 m / 1140 yd, 1160 m /1270 yd, 1270 m / 1390 yd) {1400 m / 1530 yd, 1540 m/ 1685 yd, 1665 m / 1820 yd} },
Contrasting color: 180 m / 197 yd (190 m / 207 yd, 200 m / 220 yd, 211 m/ 230 yd) {222 m / 242 m, 235 m / 257 yd, 250 m, 274 yd}

Skeins:
3 (3, 3, 4) {4, 4, 5} in main color, 1 (1, 1, 1) {1, 1, 1} in contrasting color

The sample was knitted in Silky Merino from Zagroda.

Gauge:
28 stitches / 40 rows = 10 cm x 10 cm /4“ x 4” with 3.0 mm/ US 2 ½ in stockinette stitch after blocking.

Please, take your time to check the gauge and adjust the needle size if it’s necessary to obtain the correct gauge!

Needles:
circular needle: 3.0 mm/ US 2 ½ (80 cm/ 32” long or in preferred length).
