CROCHET PATTERN - NEWBORN DRESS FORM MANNEQUIN (now has 3 month, and 6/9 month options included in this pattern).

MATERIALS NEEDED: Crochet hook in size E or hook to obtain the correct gauge. About 200 yards of #18 Nylon thread (has to be #18 size): there is a great array of colors online. You can find it in white, off white, taupe, or even gray. Or you can use the Worsted Weight yarn; the cheap scratchy kind works best- you want a stable, sturdy yarn with some weight to it.

You need the about 20 oz. of FIRM and COURSE DRY fiberfill (I find that Fairfield Crafters Choice or Morning Glory Premium Polyester fiberfill, the kind that specifies it dry, course and “packs tightly” works best)-the light super fluffy silky type wont pack in tight enough or firm enough to give you the intended result.

You will need a yarn needle, and a stitch marker, a wooden dowel to assist with stuffing.

Difficulty level: Easy but everyone has different abilities and skill levels.

You need to know basic crochet stitches: single crochet, decrease, and increase stitches. Pattern is worked in the round and a stitch marker must be used.

Finished size of newborn dress form mannequin is approximately 8-9 inch torso length from bottom of neck down, 16 inch around widest part of shoulders, and 15 inch circumference of the torso.

Your finished mannequin should accommodate a newborn size garment (5lb to 8lb).

Included in pattern is an option to create a 3 month size or 6/9 month size mannequin:

3 month measurements of finished mannequin are about 18 inches around circumference of shoulders, and 16 inches around torso. 6/9 month measurements of finished mannequin are about 19-20 inches around circumference of shoulders and 18-19 inches around torso.

Also included: tips on attaching a doll stand as a mannequin stand.
