This crochet pattern gives you the instructions, so that you can make a newborn mermaid outfit (approx 5-8 pound baby). Please keep in mind that due to small parts all children should be monitored while wearing.

Materials Needed:
Worsted Weight Yarn #4--Yarn pictured is:
Red Heart Soft in Pink (approx 200 yards)
Red Heart Soft in White (approx 5 yards)
Size H/5.0mm Crochet Hook -- or hook size needed to achieve correct gauge
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Tape Measure
2 Buttons - 23mm size with matching needle and thread.
8 Sewable Pearls - 9mm size with matching needle and thread.

Gauge: With ‘H’ hook and worsted weight yarn:
4 rows of dc and 7 dc stitches across is 2” by 2”

sl st: slip stitch
sc: single crochet
sc2tog: single crochet two together
hdc: half-double crochet
fdc: foundation double crochet
dc: double crochet
dc2tog: double crochet two together

These sizes are approximate and actual measurements of the child would be best- approx 5-8lb baby.
Newborn Headband: Circumference of 12-14”
Newborn Mermaid: Chest circumference is approx 13-15”, Full height before fin is approx 15”
