When all the men in my family picked up my swatch and said they wanted a cardigan or scarf in it, I knew I was onto something! This fabric drapes without any slots between the stitches.

My friend Carol said the horizontals of the linked treble stitches reminded her of stacks of the crab traps she saw in Newport on the West Coast when she was out with her husband. I decided to keep the name, but the photos were taken next to some lobster pots in Gloucester, MA, where my son lives.

If linked treble and double crochet stitches are new to you, I have live link urls of tutorials in the pattern.
