Hello! My name is Zoe and I am knitting biologist (currently a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford). I have been very lucky to have incredible science teachers and role models who have helped me at every step of my science journey. On April 22, I am marching in support of science teachers who give us knowledge and critical thinking tools to understand our world.

The apple represents the inspiration behind one of science’s greatest insights (Isaac Newton’s theory of gravity) and honors the incredible science teachers who build excitement, curiosity, and analytical skills in their students.

Wear your Newton hat as you march for science! If you don’t want to knit a Newton hat, make a donation to the National Science Teachers Association and/or the March for Science, and I will send you a Newton hat (until I run out of red yarn!). See the fundraising page for more information.
