I’m the first to admit to being picky about the things that matter. I love slick sharp needles with smooth joins. I love exceptionally dark roast coffee brewed strong. I love a fountain pen with an extra-fine nib that’s a little heavy in my hand and filled with pretty ink.

I really love the brilliant yarn that Sarah from Bumblebirch has dreamed up. Vernacular is her own custom blend of local Cormo and Merino wool that captures qualities we think of as opposites. It’s both soft and rustic. It’s airy and bouncy. It’s everything I want from local, small-batch yarn. It’s beautifully dyed, to boot.

The Nib Cap works up nicely from the bottom up in two coordinating skeins of Vernacular. Choose one of her glorious dyed shades and pair it with one of the dreamy naturals for a hat that celebrates great things.
