I hope you enjoy this pattern inspired by my retired racing greyhound, Nigel! All sales from this pattern will be donated to Going Home Greyhounds, the wonderful non-profit placing retired racers and educating the community about them. They helped us with our greyhounds Nigel and Penny, and do wonderful work here in Western Pennsylvania!

The charts in the pattern are provided both in color and in black and white with symbols. This way, you can color the B/W charts in to customize them with your color choices if you wish.

Yarn:
7 colors of fingering weight yarn

Yarn pictured is:
Jamieson & Smith 2 Ply Jumper Weight in #4 Brown (MC), #FC38 Rust (CC1), #21 Navy (CC2), #91 Yellow (CC3), #18 Medium Blue (CC5) , #142 Turquoise (CC6)
And Lucci Yarn Inc Style Iris in Color #4 (CC4)

A note on yarn choice: If you decide to use the Lucci Yarn, know that the tension and gauge will be slightly different than the rest of the cowl because it is not the same material- (the metallic fiber makes it is less stretchy, and the yarn is a bit thinner than the 2 ply). The Lucci also has nubby sections, so in some areas it will be thicker than the rest of the work. I wanted an ornate metallic look and loved how the variegated color in this yarn played off the rest of the colors, so I thought the sacrifice in uniformity was well worth the bling! But if you are more interested in consistency, you can choose another color of Jamieson 2 ply (or whichever fingering weight yarn you are working with) to replace this color.
