The Kyuuto Ball Purse is the first free pattern in my Nihon Chic series. It is a cute crocheted ball burse in 8-ply cotton. ‘Kyuuto’ is the Japanese pronunciation of ‘cute’.

I used Anchor Magicline from my stash (which has been discontinued) but any 8 ply cotton will do just fine – perhaps Creme de la Creme or Clever Country?

It is a very versatile pattern – if using a thinner yarn – just do more rounds – conversely, thicker yarn = less rounds. Just be sure to adjust your hook size accordingly. I used a 3.5mm with the Magicline – generally speaking 1/2mm less than the recommended hook size is best so as to get a nice tight sticth – otherwise all your moola will fall out! The trick is to make sure the edge fits into the size of purse frame that you’re using.

You could also use these cute purses for holding your stitch markers, a small tape measure and buttons – just so long as they’re not sharp and pointy notions!

Anyway, the pattern is below – feel free to copy and use for yourself or share with your friends – and of course link-backs, track-backs and any other form of free linking is greatly appreciated! The only thing I ask is not to copy the photo onto your blog or website UNLESS you link back to me.

Have Fun!
