Niilo Collar Junior is a top-down knitted collar. Shoulder stitches are cast on using a provisional cast-on. The back piece is knitted first. The front piece is created by picking up stitches from the provisional cast-on separately for each shoulder. The left front shoulder is worked first, then the right shoulder. The front pieces are then joined and worked as one piece. Finally, stitches are picked up for the neck and the collar is knitted.

The textured stitch pattern is named after our firstborn child.
