A cute little monkey knit in the round for those who love toys, but hate seaming. Make one for your own little monkey, or for any simian fan in your life.

Gauge isn’t important. Use a smaller size needle than you normally would for the yarn to make a tighter fabric. I used a set of five 3mm dpns; and 3.75mm for the i-cord tail.

Techniques used:

  • knit in round on dpns
  • disappearing loop circular CO
  • increases and decreases
  • french knot for embroidering nostrils, and for eyes if not using sew-on eyes
  • picking up stitches
  • grafting stitches together using Kitchener stitch
  • dividing stitches for arms as you would if knitting a top-down garment
  • short rows for heels of feet which are knit like socks
  • i-cord to make tail
