This free download includes three patterns in one-
Nim Hat, Nim Cowl and a bonus pattern Nim Ear Warmer. I am calling the ear warmer a bonus pattern because it is a way to use up all of the yarn.

Please note this pattern has not been test knitted.

MATERIALS
Sierra Yarn Inca Sign “Hakan” worsted 60% baby alpaca, 35% polyamide, 5% wool (546 yards total)
Color A- 182 yards sample shown in “Oatmeal”
Color B- 182 yards sample shown in “Washed Red”
Color C- 182 yards sample shown in “Apple”
(These three skeins of yarn make all three of these patterns)

NEEDLES
US 15 / 10mm 16” circular
US 8 / 5 mm double pointed needles (for crown of hat)

SIZES
Hat- 21” opening x 10” brim to crown
Cowl- 21” (27” blocked) opening at neck* x 39” opening at bottom x 12” long
Ear Warmer- 21” circumference x 6” tall

GAUGE
2 stitches = 1” in stockinette (3 yarns held together) / 4 rows = 4” stockinette (3 yarns held together)

TOOLS
1 stitch marker for beginning of round
Scissors & tapestry needle
Blocking wires & T-pins optional if you want to stretch the opening of the cowl.

INTRODUCTION
I have designed three patterns to be used with three skeins of Hakan yarn. I have included the bonus pattern of the Nim Ear Warmer to use up any left over yarn. You may choose to use the extra yarn left over after making the hat and cowl to make a pompom instead of an ear warmer. The choice of what to do with your left over yarn is up to you. All three patterns use all three color yarns. Most of the knitting is done holding the three yarns together at the same time while knitting. The Nim Hat is knitted bottom up in the round and the final decreases are done on US 8 / 5 mm double pointed needles (using US 15 / 10 mm leaves too big of a gap at the crown). The Nim Cowl is knitted top down in the round and has a series of increases that creates a funnel shaped cowl. The bonus Nim Ear Warmer pattern is knitted in the round.
