Because … cold outside!

It’s a perfect shawl for lace beginners, easy to make and cozy to wear. I knitted this version in DK weight yarn and it worked up quickly. Two version are given in the pattern but you can easily adjust the number of repeats to make a shawl to suit you and your yarn.

The patterns are easily memorized and quick to knit, but the large lace motifs and garter border make for a gorgeous and eye-catching combination.

Shawl is classic top-down shawl, wich is worked in one piece and consists of two identical triangles, with a single spine stitch running down the center. Lacy blooms growing within diamond motifs.

Most of your shawl you will be increasing 4 stitches every right side row: one st on the right edge, two stitches in the center and one stitch on the left edge. Shawl begins with Garter Tab cast on and followed by a lace stitch pattern with a big swath of garter stitch at the end. Also, at the end you have the option to add big tassels.

You get two shawl instructions: One (grey with mustard tassels) is knitted with DK yarn and large Garter St border and Two (yellow) knitted with Sport weight yarn and finished after lace part

This pattern is fully written and also includes charted instructions. You can easily adjust the number of repeats to make a shawl to suit you and your yarn. You can repeats Part B (repeating lace part) as many times as you like. You can also work more or less repeats of The Garter Section to add more or less garter to the border.

Yarn: 8,5 skein of Drops Lima in colorway Grey or 926 yards (850m) other DK weight yarn.
Needles: 4mm (US 6) circular needles 32“ (80cm). Or whatever size needles it takes you to get right gauge
Other tools: 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle, blocking tools (maths and spins)
Size: 77“ (195cm) measured along the wingspan; 37“ (94cm) measured down the center spine.
Gauge: 19 sts and 26 rows = 4“ (10cm). Measurement taken from relaxed fabric after lace-blocking.

I would like to thank my wonderful testers. You have all been very helpful and it has been a real pleasure to work with you. Without you, this pattern isn’t here ….
