This is the hat pattern companion to the Nordbakkan cardigan, made with leftover yarn from the cardigan: Rauwerk sport weight Bavarian merino. The hat has a very simple conventional construction and a simple colourwork chart ideal for beginners.

Yarn
Rauwerk Merino Sportweight (100% Bavarian merino, 300 m / 328 yds, 100 g). 150 m main colour, 50 m contrast colour.

Could be substituted with any sport to fingering weight yarn. You will get the best results if you use a non-superwash, woollen spun, sheep’s wool yarn. Alternatives: Rauma Finull, Hillesvåg Ask or Sol, Tukuwool Fingering, Sandnes Tove, Navia Duo, etc.
