double pointed needles # 3 and # 5

Darning Needle

Make a gauge swatch: Cast 22 sts on your needle. Knit rows 1-10 of chart to check gauge. Bind off. Wash your swatch like you will wash your socks. After it is dry, measure across to figure your gauge. Your swatch should measure 4” exactly. Work at it, changing needle sizes if necessary, until you get this gauge of 5.5 sts and 7 rounds = 1”.

These socks are easy to knit to any length by adding/deleting/altering the bands of patterns on the leg before starting the heel, and on the foot before starting the toe. Standard foot lengths chart included.
