Have you ever walked along the coast of the North Sea in autumn? Have you ever felt the light breeze blowing on your cheek, smelled the scent of autumn and salt sea on the air? Have you seen the gray waves of the North Sea as they approach the beach? This is the inspiriation for this scarf, Nordseewellen - North Sea Waves. The striking gray reflects the colour of the water and reminds me of snug, cozy days by the sea.

The scarf is made of slip stitch crochet. The lace pattern is created without complicated decreases; making it very easy to crochet and a good beginner project.

The pattern comes with photo tutorials for all stitches used, i.e.

• front loop only slip stitch (F)
• inverse back loop only slip stitch (iB)

The pattern is both charted and written line by line. The scarf is worked in slip stitch crochet, so be aware that they are not your usual crochet charts. As there are no crochet symbols for slip stitch lace, I invented them.

Gauge: one pattern repeat is 9 cm (3.5 in) wide. 13 rows are 10 cm high.

Schon mal einen Spaziergang im Herbst an der Nordsee gemacht? Bei frischer Luft und einem leichten Wind, wenn dieser ganz spezielle Duft aus Meerwasser und Herbst in der Luft liegt?
Und die Nordsee mit grauen Wellen an den Strand schlägt? Genau dieses Bild steckt im Schal Nordseewellen. Das edle Grau soll die Farbe des Wassers spiegeln und erinnert an gemütliche und kuschelige Tage am Meer.

Der Schal ist aus Kettmaschen gehäkelte. Das Lacemuster kommt ohne komplizierte Abnahmen aus; es lässt sich also sehr flüssig häkeln und ist ein gutes Einsteigerprojekt.

Wie immer erkläre ich alle benutzten Maschen in der Anleitung. Das sind

• vorn eingestochene Kettmaschen (V)
• von links hinten eingestochene Kettmaschen (liH)

Das Lacemuster ist sowohl reihenweise aufgeschrieben als auch als Häkelschrift. Der Schal wird aus Kettmaschen gehäkelt; deshalb muss man sich in die Häkelschrift erstmal etwas einlesen.

Maschenprobe: Ein Mustersatz ist 9 cm breit. 13 Reihen sind 10 cm hoch.
