Fans of The Lord of the Rings will recognise the sock’s name Norolim from the films. Wanting to flee from the Nazgul, Arwen commands her horse, “Noro lim, Asfaloth! Noro lim!” Since I first knit these socks using Noro Kureyon, the name stuck.

Skill level: intermediate
The socks are knitted from the cuff down.

You will need a 100g skein of fingering weight yarn and DPNs or circular needles in sizes 2mm and 2.25mm.

Size options: Size can be adapted by choosing smaller or larger needles for a snug or looser fit. The length of both cuff and foot can be changed by knitting fewer repeats for a smaller size or more repeats for a larger size. Knit a shorter heel flap to fit a lower instep or alternatively make it longer for a higher instep.

Instructions include two charts for the lace sections.
