A reversible poncho with two sides — one with a classic tartan pattern, one with modern stripes. What could a knitter want more? Oh right, two more things: It is all simple garter stitch, and the whole thing grows out from only one stitch.

To make it even more interesting, the tartan pattern and fringe is created by weaving strands through the fabric with a tapestry needle.

Knit this poncho from a lightweight yarn like Drops Air, and you will barely notice that there is something on your shoulders.
