Do you find yourself in the Fire Swamp of last minute crafting? Maybe due to procrastination or an innate ability to have a perpetual positive outlook on your ability to bend the space time continuum?
Fret not, here is one of six patterns that can help you out of that sticky situation of needing a last minute hand made gift. Something cozy and warm, stylish and modern, infinitely wearable and lightning fast to knit up!

North Point is an updated take on the classic ribbed hat, adding just a bit more interest to your knitting with a graduated mock cable.

The mock cables (no cable needle required!) end at intervals, giving the pattern the effect of a gradual slope up to the peak, with the offset center cable reaching to the crown of the hat.

North Point is inspired by the mountains around the Aletsch Glacier, located up behind the Riederalp, the sunny south-facing location of my new Slow Stitching retreat which I am so excited to be able to share with you!
As with most places in the Swiss alps, the north side tends to be snowier and colder, as the sun doesn’t reach it as much or as often, and you often need a hat.

This highly stretchy stitch pattern allows for you to decide if you like your hat snug like shown in the picture in the light color, or less expanded between the cabled rib like in the dark blue hat, which is actually meant for my hubby.
