The Northcroft Sweater was designed to showcase the natural shades of wool at Northcroft Farm, near Pelican Rapids, MN. Knit from the top down with a seamless yoke, the sweater features a vertical twisted rib and reverse stockinette pattern intersected by small eyelet rows that highlight each color change.

Although designed for five colors of yarn, the pattern is easily adjusted for a different number of colors, or could be knit in one color for a more subtle effect.

The yarn for this sweater is available at www.sheepnotes.blogspot.com. I originally used 5 skeins of Northcroft sport weight yarn. Each skein is approximately 325 yds. The small size uses approximately 2/3 of each skein, except the darkest shade, which the small used 3/4 of. This is a very lofty yarn with no drape, so if you are planning a substitution keep this in mind.

The size shown is the small.
