The cowl is knitted bottom up, but it can be worn both ways. It is knitted in the round. There are no resting rows between the patterned rows – lace pattern is knitted in every row. Lace stitches used are k2tog, ssk, yo, 3-into-3 star, make 2. The pattern is charted, but also includes written instructions.

Yarn: You can use any DK weight yarn, but since the lace pattern is textured, using yarn with good stitch definition is recommended.

Sizes available: Approximately 55 cm (22 inches) in length and 28 cm (11 inches) in width for smaller version.
Approximately 120 cm (47 inches) in length and 30 cm (12 inches) in width for longer version.

Gauge information: One repeat of Chart C (32 stitches in lace) = 15 cm/5.9 inches (4 mm/US 6 needles). Gauge is not crucial. If your gauge swatch is bigger, your cowl will be looser, if it’s smaller, your cowl will be more snug.
