Northern Light is a triangle shawl worked top down with a center panel on a stockinette stitch base featuring a leaf lace stitch pattern and a lace edging worked sideways.

All patterns from the hand spun Shawls project are inspired by yarn provided by fellow spinners. The yarn for Northern Light was spun by Sabine Spinnwahn, a legendary Austrian hand spinner. The roving she used was Bluefaced Leicester, hand dyed; the color was called Northern Light, a dark blue with shades of green and light blue.
