Description:

Inspired by the 19th century Norwegian Lusekofte, the traditional geometric patterning and lus (lice) motifs make this sock fun to knit. The stockinette stitch heel flap is knitted with a Norwegian Star pattern, and has a Band Heel, which requires no instep gusset, and a Wide Toe. The gauge is 8 stitches/inch in 2 color stockinette stitch for three sizes. Notes are given for another three sizes, in between, knitted at 7 stitches/inch. Guernsey or firm sport weight yarn recommended. Traditionally knitted in black and cream. This pattern is recommended for intermediate knitters.
