For this pattern we’ve combined 3 of Colinette’s most popular yarns and used the traditional ‘Old Shale’ stitch pattern. But we’ve made it a touch more dramatic, creating deeper scallops, by increasing the number of consecutive increases/decreases than are typical within the traditionally used pattern repeat.

The wonderful thing about throws is that you don’t need to worry too much about your tension, so it’s easy to swap and change yarns about as you fancy. The pattern utilises just a simple four row stitch pattern, while you create a stunning colour & texture effect simply by combining a handful of different yarns.

We’ve used a total of 7 hanks for our colour combo, but the required quantities can be adjusted to 6 x 100g hanks by revising the striping repeat, and still maintaining the same finished size.

This pattern is available to our customers direct at selected shows and will soon be added to our online shop. Email us at e-info@sarahdurrant.com for details.
