This reversible double layer scarf/neckwarmer was inspired by a Double Knitting class I took with the incredible Lucy Neatby. HOWEVER, I’m a very slow knitter and the back and forth with every stitch would mean I couldn’t possibly finish a project in this lifetime, or at least before cold weather set in, so I decided to reverse the colours halfway through the chart, create ‘faux seams’ and knit the whole thing as a close-ended flattened tube in the round with only two ends to sew in. Add buttons for embellishment.

Techniques
Ability to understand charts, work in the round with stranded colourwork, cable cast-on and 3 needle bindoff.

Suggested Yarn and Gauge
DK weight yarn. Any two similar weight yarns, but you need approximately 20% more of the main colour (MC) which is used for the ends and edges, than the second colour (SC).
Neckwarmer: 0.6 skein (160m) Sericin Silkworks Yak (270m/100g) (MC), 1 skein Sericin Silkworks Silk/Yak 4Ply (140m/50g) (SC). 6”x27” 26sts x 26sts/10cm on 4.5mm needles
Scarf version: 1 skein Sericin Silkworks Yak (270m/100g) (MC) and 240m of handspun worsted weight (SC). 7”x56” 23sts x 23rows /10cm on 5.0mm needles

Suggested Needle Size & Notions
1 40cm/16” 4.5mm circular needle or whatever your preferred needle style for knitting small tubes in the round. 2 stitch markers if necessary. Buttons for embellishment.
