This is a variation on the Tiffany mittens on Knitty by Sari. This pattern, however, uses worsted weight wool instead of finer gauge yarn, making it a good way to enter the world of Nordic mittens.

I used one skein each of Berroco Ultra Alpaca in beet root, fennel, duncan, and henna. If you’re substituting another worsted weight yarn, look for colors that are a deep eggplant, green-yellow, very dark brown, and rusty-orange. These are knit in the round on double pointed needles using the stranding technique. Stitches used are k, p, k2tog, ssk, and yo. Pattern includes written directions and color charts.

The companion cowl shown in the photograph, Not-So-Norwegian Neck Warmer, is also available on Ravelry.
